Step 1: Finding/taking a photo

Identify the photograph you would like your stunning new artwork to be created from or alternatively take a new one of your subject. When it comes to picking a suitable photo, the bigger, the better. I like to be able to really see the details of a subject.

The beauty of digital cameras is that you can shoot away at your subject until you find an image you like.

You can email me your photos (send several if you can) or if you only have a physical copy you can mail it to me (I'll provide the address at the time) and I'll return it safely with your finished drawing.

If you want a drawing of several people/pets together but haven't got them in one photo it's very possible I can put them together in a composition.

Step 2: Discussion of you requirements

Once we've discussed the best photo to use, we'll discuss the size of the work, framing requirements, any special requests (such as names) and agree on a price. (see prices)

Step 3: Working on the drawing

I will then start the drawing. There is no set time on how long each drawing takes, but I aim to book in 1 commission a week so it will depend how busy I am. If you have a deadline I will give you an honest answer as to whether I can complete the work to my satisfaction in that time or I won't take the commission on.

I do like to post quick updates of my work in progress on twitter/facebook so you may see your work there or you can email me for an update.

Step 4: Completion of the drawing, payment and delivery

Once I've completed the drawing to my satisfaction I will mount, frame and photograph the work. I will then email you several photographs. Once you've confirmed that you are happy with the finished product you can pay online via secure online checkout service PayPal or you can pay cash if you're picking up the drawing personally.

Once payment is received or you confirm you're coming to pickup the work a Certificate of Authenticity is attached to the back with the drawing's details, wrapped in cellophane and a label (My logo and the title. Custom labels with messages can be printed at no extra charge) attached to complete the presentation package.

All my drawings are sent recorded delivery (in the UK and tracked internationally when possible) and packed to the highest standards. The frame's corners are protected and the entire frame wrapped in bubble wrap. It's then further encased in cardboard and finally wrapped in classic brown package paper with a printed address label.

If you've ordered an unframed drawing it'll be sent backed on a sturdy piece of MDF wrapped in cellophane.

Step 5: Hang it up, sit back and enjoy your new artwork
